Is There A Reason Why I Didn’t Cry on My High School Graduation Day?

AN: You may not wanna read this ‘cause the title’s pretty long but I technically don’t care. I’m just bored so I wanna share something. (This is actually my very first post in tumblr.)

It just felt like two days ago, I graduated elementary. I still can’t believe that just yesterday, I finished my four years in high school. And I didn’t even shed a single tear.

It felt odd. Most of my batchmates we’re crying already. They had red, puffy eyes, clutching tissues to wipe their runny noses and hugging each other as if never letting go. I was not greatly affected by the moment. Although, I was expecting that I would be the first to cry seeing that I’m (sort of) an emotional person but not a crybaby, of course.

Until the end of the ceremony, I felt strange. I was kinda happy that I’m finally going to college but very nervous of the new environment. I am surely gonna miss my school and classmates and friends but I wasn’t sentimental. Maybe because I knew that this is what it’s suppose to be.

The natural order of a student’s life.

We start with our education at home, when we were taught by our parents. Then on to pre-school, then to grade school, then to high school and finally college.

Maybe I won’t feel the loneliness now but sooner or later the realization, that I have finally reached another milestone and that I may very seldom see may friends again, will catch up to me.

I guess the reason why I didn’t cry on my high school graduation ceremony is that I know that there is still more to come and high school is just a stepping stone.

Still, this is not the end, it’s just the beginning.
